This song was written after a trip I took to Mexico 20 years ago. I had recorded this to a Tascam 8 track but never released it. I left for the trip two days before 9/11 happened. The wild contrast of starting the trip on one side of that event and then returning on the other side will be something I still process and think about throughout my whole life. I felt like I was watching the events from an outside perspective whilst also trying to be present in the beauty of everyday life that continues on.
